Born and raised in Miyako, Iwate, he transitioned from a teaching job in public schools to the travel industry after the Great East Japan Earthquake. He has dedicated his career to revitalizing the region through travel and meaningful connections between people. Working with the Iwate Kenpoku Bus Group, he’s focused on creating travel experiences in the Sanriku area, emphasizing the lessons learned from the disaster. Inspired by how global connections forged after the earthquake uplifted local communities, he’s now committed to showcasing the region to the world and unlocking new opportunities for Tohoku through inbound tourism.
